DESCRIPTION:We are blessed to welcome back one of our most beloved and talented presenters\, Alan Masters\, AIFD\, CFD\, and PFCI.  Alan’s presentation is titled\, “Nature’s Sculpted Elements\,” and is sure to be amazing!!!!  Alan Masters has been designing since the age of 16\, beginning at a small hometown shop in Lufkin.  Having won numerous industry awards\, he is an avid competitor and loves finding new places to showcase his skills in competition settings. Alan is the former recipient of “Houston Designer of the Year”\, “Texas Designer of the Year\,” and “Louisiana Designer of the Year” awards. He has more than 41 years of experience in the industry and is a Jim Johnson Cup winner and a National Alliance of Floral Association’s Designer of the Year. With a passion for education and a love for inspiring others\, Alan also taught Floral Design at the Dr. Kirk Lewis Career and Technical High School in Pasadena\, Texas. Alan now focuses on his business\, Magnolia and Pine Floral and Events.

DESCRIPTION:Refreshments served from 6:30 to 7:00\nMeeting Presenter=\nIlissa Collins is honored to return to the SAFD community as a floral presenter—a place that has played an important role in her floral journey. She looks forward to sharing her creativity\, techniques\, experiences\, and love of floral art with fellow floral enthusiasts. \nIlissa is a Houston-based freelance luxury florist and floral artist specializing in custom floral designs for events\, private homes\, and special-occasion gifts. As a multicultural floral designer\, she has had the opportunity to create and collaborate on celebrations that honor a variety of cultural traditions\, including weddings in Ireland and Hindu weddings\, where she has worked alongside other talented floral designers as a freelance designer. \nIlissa embraces celebrations of every size—from intimate gatherings to large-scale events—and believes each floral design should be as unique as the person\, culture\, or occasion it represents. \nHer love of flowers began at a young age during visits to her grandmother’s garden in Mississippi\, where she developed an appreciation for the beauty and artistry of nature. That early inspiration eventually grew into a passion for floral design and floral art. \nIlissa became a member of the Society for the Advancement of Floral Design (SAFD)\, where she became deeply intrigued by the artistic side of floral design and was honored to serve on the SAFD Board. She is especially passionate about sharing her knowledge and creativity and enjoys teaching floral design classes for groups of five or more. \nHer work and passion for floral design have earned her recognition beyond the Houston floral community\, including being featured in The Florist Review Magazine. In 2026\, Ilissa was also honored as a Houston Chronicle Best of the Best award winner.
