Ilissa Collins is honored to return to the SAFD community as a floral presenter—a place that has played an important role in her floral journey. She looks forward to sharing her creativity, techniques, experiences, and love of floral art with fellow floral enthusiasts.
Ilissa is a Houston-based freelance luxury florist and floral artist specializing in custom floral designs for events, private homes, and special-occasion gifts. As a multicultural floral designer, she has had the opportunity to create and collaborate on celebrations that honor a variety of cultural traditions, including weddings in Ireland and Hindu weddings, where she has worked alongside other talented floral designers as a freelance designer.
Ilissa embraces celebrations of every size—from intimate gatherings to large-scale events—and believes each floral design should be as unique as the person, culture, or occasion it represents.
Her love of flowers began at a young age during visits to her grandmother’s garden in Mississippi, where she developed an appreciation for the beauty and artistry of nature. That early inspiration eventually grew into a passion for floral design and floral art.
Ilissa became a member of the Society for the Advancement of Floral Design (SAFD), where she became deeply intrigued by the artistic side of floral design and was honored to serve on the SAFD Board. She is especially passionate about sharing her knowledge and creativity and enjoys teaching floral design classes for groups of five or more.
Her work and passion for floral design have earned her recognition beyond the Houston floral community, including being featured in The Florist Review Magazine. In 2026, Ilissa was also honored as a Houston Chronicle Best of the Best award winner.
